Answer: Sin, pride and obedience to the Word of God.

Question: What three things do we all struggle with the most.

I’m only 36 but looking back at my life, these three are the root causes of every problem I’ve ever encountered (along with the love of money).
Look at what Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)
13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (emphasis added mine)

What I was doing wasn’t looking for a way of escape. I wasn’t concerned with escaping! I didn’t know I had anything to escape from. What I was doing was looking for a way to continue in the indulgence of sin because I didn’t know what sin was. By God’s grace He opened my eyes by bringing others in Christ up beside me to show me the importance, authority and sufficiency of God’s Word. The Word is Good. Every Word. The Word of God shows us what sin is. Anybody else see that studying the Word of God is an important aspect of being a Christian?

Romans 7:7 (ESV)
7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”

Jesus tells us this (as one example):
Matthew 4:4 (ESV)
4 But he answered, “It is written, “ ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”

…which He quotes from:
Deuteronomy 8:3 (ESV)
3 And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

Praise God!!!
